Chelsea and Daryll’s Love Story
They’ve known each other since middle school 🫶🏻 Here they are 7 years later…
Chelsea & Daryll stayed friends throughout the years, eventually leading to something more 🥰 They consider their first official date at Barnes & Noble, to “study.” When what really happened is that they talked the entire time, just catching up on life! 🤭
Whether they’re binging a TV series or going out on a spontaneous date, they’re inseparable. Their favorite memory together was their trip to Europe in 2019. They spent their time exploring the country going on hikes, visiting wineries, biking together, trying new foods and simply enjoying being in the moment together.
From their secret handshake, pinky promises, sushi dates, endless laughs, knowing each others weirdest quirks, going on adventures, to planning their wedding, they have such a special and powerful bond.
Without further adieu, let me show you their amazing wedding!
The Details of their Intimate Wedding at Chart House
To start, Chelsea and Daryll had a beautiful vision to have a NYC vibe intimate wedding so they chose Chart House in Weehawken, NJ. It was so much fun capturing all of their wedding details. I started with photos of the perfume, lipstick, shoes, flowers, rings, the invitation and vow books. As for the reception, the tables, the cake, the decorations, the skyline, and the whole environment. Their whole aesthetic was dark and moody, chic and classy with all the city vibes.
Bride and Groom Getting Ready
Next, the bride and groom got ready at the Sheraton Hotel down the street from Chart House. Chelsea had her maid of honor, bridesmaids, mom and grandmother help her get ready for her wedding day. She wore a beautiful dress with lace sleeves, a sparkly headband, and a gorgeous necklace. Daryll had his groomsman, father and mother help him get ready to put on his boutonnière. Chelsea and Daryll were both very calm and peaceful as they got ready for their wedding day.
The Wedding Party
We all walked over to Lincoln Harbor Park to do their wedding party portraits. Lincoln Harbor Park is a great option for photos when you book at Chart House because it is only a few minutes down the street. This park allows you to get the NYC skyline in the background of the photos. This is an added bonus to the location of Chart House to capture all the NYC vibes for the wedding!
Family Portraits Outside of Chart House
Further, I also did their family portraits at Lincoln Harbor Park. One of my favorite family photos to capture is the bride hugging her mom and dad. It captures the essence of the parents emotions on their daughter’s wedding day, and creates for such a special memory documented. It is always super important to have space outside during the daylight to capture the family portraits. There is nothing better than natural light to capture the family on your wedding day!
First Look at Lincoln Harbor Park
In addition to the family and wedding party, they did their first look at Lincoln Harbor Park. There are walkways out onto the water at the park, which makes for great photos with the NYC skyline in the background. Chelsea walked all the way out onto the pathway to the end. Daryll was waiting for her, facing the skyline. She walked up to him, tapped him on the shoulder, and Daryll turned around to her with a radiant smile. They embraced each other in a giant hug, and shared tears of joy.
Bride and Groom Wedding Portraits at Chart House
Next, Chelsea and Daryll utilized the various scenes for their wedding portraits. We started at Lincoln Harbor Park during the daylight. I captured them in the golden light, walking under the sunset, and under the bride’s veil together. Then, as the sun went down, I captured them in the dark with the NYC skyline lighting up behind them. This is a classic wedding portrait to take at the Chart House, with the beautiful bright skyline behind the couple.
Their Wedding Ceremony at Chart House
Finally, they had their ceremony inside the Chart House after the sunset. It was a dark and moody vibe inside for their ceremony. They lined the walkway up to their ceremony position with many candles. The lights were low, with a few spotlights in the room, and it made for such a romantic moment.
The Reception at Chart House
Overall, they had a beautifully classy reception. With a violinist, pianist, candlelight, and the skyline surrounding the room, it was so dark and moody chic. All of their guests signed in at the front. Chelsea and Daryll created photo albums with their engagement photos with extra space on the sides for people to sign. It was such a unique and creative idea for their wedding memories. Along with family and friends celebrating after the ceremony, they had an open dance floor where everyone started doing Filipino line dancing. It was such a party and nearly everyone got up and participated!
