07.28.22. My twin brother and I take trips to Colorado every year. This year was EPIC because we just so happened to see Great Sand Dunes National Park at the perfect time: sunset. When I say, this was the MOST beautiful view I have ever seen in my life, I mean it to my core. It was an experience like no other.

The Great Sand Dunes is my FAVORITE place to go in Colorado. It is also my favorite national park. The park is a lot less crowded than most other national parks in the United States. I have been to 12 national parks total in the US (which will increase next month when I go to Washington). Out of all of them so far, sand dunes is still my number one.

Further, if you are looking for an epic nature experience in Colorado where you have a lot of space for yourself, sand dunes is it. First walking up to the dunes as they rise into the sky is such a cool moment. I feel spiritual there to say the least. Hiking up and looking around to see a panoramic view of mountains with giant dunes is unreal. I have been to this park at least 5 times and it NEVER gets old.
