Engagement at Asbury Park, NJ

How they first met

Their engagement at Asbury Park, NJ was PRECIOUS. He got down on one knee in the same place they met 9 years ago… Shannon and Chris met in 2015 at a music festival called Skate and Surf. They met by happenstance because his best friend and her best friend introduced them. Chris’s favorite bands that he went to the concert to see were actually Shannon’s least favorite bands. 😅

Upon meeting her for the first time, Chris kept thinking, “she is cool as shit.“ This is the exact description that was his first impression of Shannon, “she had a white Tiger’s Jaw t-shirt on, beach blonde hair, and you could tell all of her friends laughed at everything she said.” 🥰

After a month of texting, they finally went on their first day on her birthday. They went to a Tigers Jaw concert at a place in New York called Le Poisson Rouge. Before they went to the concert, they tried going to a Seinfeld pop up but the line was too long. They got pizza instead. 😋

In between their shared love of music, concerts, and spontaneous pizza, the rest is history. Their favorite thing to do nowadays is to attend trivia nights at their local bar. They’ve won, TWICE! 🥳 In addition, they have an adventurous spirit and love exploring all the national parks that they can together. Hiking and road trips are always a MUST.

One of Chris’s favorite things is to introduce Shannon to new foods. According to Chris, Shannon was a very picky eater when they first met. 9 years in, Chris successfully had Shannon try Mexican food, seafood, and various pastas. He takes that as a WIN! 😝

Their favorite memory together

His favorite memory with her so far was their trip to Maine. They embarked on a fun AND SCARY hike. Chris was struck with fear, seeing metal rods they had to climb up. Shannon cheered him on, told him not to look down, which successfully led him to do it. ☺️ Chris successfully got Shannon obsessed with lobster on that trip, expanding her food palette! Fast forward to now, you’ll find them happily living together, with Chris engaging in full conversations with her while she’s sleep talking. 🤣

Chris planned to propose in Asbury Park because of how sentimental it is for their relationship. Congratulations to these two beautiful people on their wonderful engagement! 🤍
