Lenape Park Engagement Session

Spring engagement photos

Wow, their Lenape Park engagement session felt like a revamp of the iconic, “The Notebook,” movie. Trish and Chris wanted their photos captured where they had their first date: Echo Lake Park and Lenape Park in Cranford, New Jersey. The theme of this shoot was boho, nostalgic, warm and free spirited. They wanted to have fun and feel like they were on a date without any pressure. I basically was a professional at following them around from a distance as they enjoyed their time together.

The feeling of nostalgia

Trish and Chris are the perfect example of a free spirited couple. Because of this, I felt so creative at their Lenape Park engagement session. I always thrive working with free spirits because I firmly believe there are no rules for a magical photo. The more you feel the moment, get lost in it, and forget there is even a photographer there, the better the images come out.

Prepping for an engagement session

Before their shoot, I sent Trish my outfit guide so she could see what colors do well in the spring and the early summer. I always emphasize that if you wear a color palette that matches the nature of the environment you’re in, it will all be very aesthetically pleasing.
