Vintage Autumn Elopement Shoot

October 2020 was a very special one because I conducted my very first styled shoot. The theme was a rustic wedding on a dreamy autumn landscape. The photoshoot took place at Readington Community Gardens in Readington, New Jersey. I had the absolute best team behind me that made my vision come to life…

We arrived at the community gardens around 5pm. We were lucky enough to catch the sunset when the whole day was complete overcast. The golden autumn trees lit up and it made for the perfect fall aesthetic. Vienna and Michael were so stunning together. They worked with each other to create poses and looks where they portrayed marriage love.

The best way to prepare for a styled shoot is to have communication, communication, and more communication. From the start, we needed to find a dress and a suit as soon as possible. I had the whole team on board with everything I was looking for. Brittany was able to donate her wedding dress, and it magically fit Vienna perfectly. Michael was able to wear a suit I already had from my boyfriend, and it fit him perfectly. We all worked together to pool our resources. Flemington Floral donated a flower bouquet to our shoot. I found the perfect bow tie from Walmart. Michael already had black dress shoes and a black dress shirt. Needless to say, it all worked so well together because this photoshoot was fate. My motto is work with what you have, while you chase what you want. This team could not have been better to align with this vision.

The team you have is what makes the experience. Brittany and Chelsea were such a pleasure to work with. They are both extremely friendly and create a completely stress-free environment. I already did photoshoots with Vienna and Michael so I had time to get to know them before our wedding styled shoot. Bringing everyone together was great because they were all so accommodating and easy to work with.

If you are beginning to go hard in the photography world like me, definitely try and pool your resources with your network to create a styled shoot. It was so enjoyable because I did not have the rush of a wedding day but had the most beautiful wedding portraits. Having the creative freedom during a styled shoot really allows room for all of the poses you want to try. I want to thank my amazing team again for making my vision a reality and blowing me away.
